A Bristol woman whose abusive relationship left her in hospital for 17 days could launch legal action to claim against her ex-partner.
After an all-day drinking and drug-taking session Richard Gregson pushed his girlfriend, Carly Summerfield, down a set of stairs in a fit of rage, according to the Bristol Post.
Ms Summerfields' injuries left her with significant physical, and potentially emotional, damage, something she could launch a civil claim against Mr Gregson for.
Mr Gregson was sentenced to 15 months in prison on April 25th for the injuries that he inflicted upon his ex-partner, after the man pleaded guilty to the crime.
Ms Summerfields described her ex-boyfriend as "toxic", adding that no man should have done what Mr Gregson did to her.
The man's lawyer defended his violent behaviour by saying that her client had not meant to "intended to cause her the harm that she suffered".
Domestic abuse is a very serious issue, and those affected by it should call the police, or alternatively, the National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0808 2000 247.
