Five-figure compensation for car accident injuries

Car accident leads to five figure compensation sum 2703

A pedestrian has been paid a five figure compensation amount for serious knee and back injuries he suffered during a car accident.

According to the Sheffield Star, Dion Curry was knocked through a shop window when a car hit him while he was walking on the pavement of Eccleshall Road in Sheffield.

The 31-year-old who is Canadian but is conducting research for his PhD in Britain,  sustained torn knee ligaments and severe scarring from broken glass following the accident and also needed chiropractic treatment.

Mr Curry's car accident injuries required him to stay in hospital for two weeks following the collision and still suffers from persistent headaches and struggles to maintain concentration.

"The accident set me back three months in my PhD research and teaching and created undue stress for me financially and personally," he told the news source.

However, despite the fact the driver in question was never prosecuted after losing control of his Audi R8, the car's insurance company paid compensation for Mr Curry's injuries in an out-of-court settlement.
