Three people required hospital treatments after a car accident on the A68 in the Scottish Borders.
The trio were taken to the Borders General Hospital with a variety of injuries after the car accident took place near a roundabout on the A68 between Melrose and Newton St. Boswells; STV reports.
Three cars were involved in the accident and the Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to cut two people out of thier cars.
A spokesperson from the fire service stated, "We attended a car crash involving three cars, two people were trapped inside thier vehicles and hydraulic equipment was used to get them out safely."
As a result of the accident, police were forced to close off the throughway and created a diversion along Newton St Boswells along Eastern Road, allowing both fire crews and ambulance staff to access the accident scene.
