Sylvia Jennings, who is 73-year-old, had to spend two weeks in hospital after her fall on a footpath in London, and has criticised Croydon Council for allowing the surface to fall into a state of disrepair, Your Local Guardian reports.
Ms. Jennings had previously informed her local representative of the dangerous number of potholes on the street outside the entrance to Westow Park in Upper Norwood; but nothing was done and she fell over while returning home after going shopping.
"There are a lot of older people living in the area who walk with walking sticks, so I contacted my Councillor because it's absolutely disgusting the holes haven't been filled," she told Your Local Guardian.
The elderly resident may now claim compensation from the Council, which has insisted the necessary repairs will go ahead as soon as possible.
