An industrial disease claim may be launched by a woman in the near future after her father died from an asbestos-related illness.
Melvin Unwin passed away due to mesothelioma in 2009 just three months after being diagnosed with the condition and his daughter Julie is now determined to sue for damages on his behalf, according to Journal Live.
Ms Unwin told the news source she intends to take legal action as soon as she has established exactly how he contracted the disease and where he came into contact with the lethal substance.
The man retired from his job as a warehouse worker with the Co-operative in 2005 but it is thought he may have been exposed to asbestos during his time operating as a fuel serviceman's keeper for a year between 1969 and 1970.
"We're desperate to find out the exact circumstances of how he died," his daughter told the news source.
