Damages claims to be pursued in Yorkshire?

Numerous compensation claims may be launched in one area of the UK after it emerged that hundreds of accidents at work occurred there last year.

Statistics from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have revealed that nearly 350 employees were hurt during incidents at their place of work in Yorkshire in 2011, according to the Halifax Courier.

Some 257 accidents were serious enough to cause the individual affected to need three or more days off from their job, while a further 92 sustained major injuries and 24 passed away.

With these figures in mind, officials at the HSE have urged managers to make employee wellbeing their number one priority in 2012 to avoid such numbers rising further.

Paul Spurrier, head of operations for the body in Yorkshire, observed: "These statistics highlight why we need good health and safety in British workplaces."

Recently, the Yorkshire Post reported that Craig Dunwell was awarded more than £10,000 in damages for a hand injury he suffered while working for Fluestax.
