Broken bones sustained during an accident at work have resulted in a woman seeking personal injury compensation.
According to the Mearns Leader, barmaid Danielle Ormond suffered several fractures as well as a punctured lung when the Drumtochy Arms Hotel in Auchenblae - a rural village situated in Aberdeenshire - collapsed following a gas explosion in January 2009.
The 28-year-old told the news source that she now has permanent back pain and requires drugs to help her sleep and go about day-to-day tasks after she was buried under rubble at the site of the blast.
This incident occurred at the end of a £750,000 refurbishment project taking place at the hotel and an investigation into what caused it is still ongoing.
However, Ms Ormond has now decided to seek damages for her ordeal and added: "Looking back on the whole thing I still feel lucky to be alive but I hope I get closure soon."
