Companies across a variety of sectors could reduce the likelihood of having to face claims for personal injury compensation after instances of slipping and tripping by taking a simple measure.
That is according to Jill Joyce - senior policy and technical advisor at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Iosh), a chartered body for professionals in the health and safety sector - who believes anti-slip matting is an easy way to reduce accidents at work.
Ms Joyce explained the product makes walking on wet surfaces - something a vast number of employees face on a daily basis - much safer.
She noted workplaces like commercial kitchens and fast food restaurants should consider anti-slip devices as there have been serious incidents in these arenas where "employees have slipped on wet floors and severely burned themselves with hot cooking oil".
The expert went on to indicate that factory workshops can also benefit from the installation of this flooring.
