According to the Blackpool Gazette, Jamie Jackson sustained a depressed fracture to his skull when he was crushed while using a swing in a play park near his home in Blackpool earlier this month (June 6th).
The ten-year-old was hurt when a "large metal unit" fell on him and subsequently had to undergo an emergency operation at Manchester Children's Hospital after he was found to be suffering with brain injuries.
He has since returned home but is described by his mother Lisa as "very poorly" and an investigation into the incident has now been launched, with the cause thought likely to have been a corroded metal attachment on the equipment.
Gregory Jackson, the child's father, told the news source: "We are planning to take legal action, but Jamie is our number one priority."
