Teacher suffers broken bones in holiday cycling accident

Broken bones to lead to compensation claim

A British teacher suffered broken bone injuries in a cycling accident on holiday. According to online resource The Courier, Mary Strutt sustained fractures to her shoulder and back, as well as an intestinal injury; when she was hit by a truck whilst riding her bike near to Milan, Italy.

The 21-year-old subsequently needed a blood transfusion shortly after the accident. She is still in the process of recovering at the home of her sister in Italy; but is set to claim compensation for her injuries and the ordeal in the near future.

"I thought I was going to die and so did the doctors. When I initially asked if I was going to survive, they said it was too early to tell."

This story comes just as another cycling accident reported in the Lutterworth Mail, informs that injured cyclist Stephen Whitmore won compensation after colliding with a car in Harborough.
