According to the Bristol Evening Post, some 16 people opted to take legal action against The White Circle Organisation after falling ill following the reception at the nuptials of David and Annelise Breckin at Heatherden House, a grade II listed Victorian building located in Buckinghamshire, in the summer of 2009.
These guests claimed that a portion of chicken liver parfait provided by the company at the celebrations had caused them to be unwell, with many showing the classic symptoms of food poisoning such as sickness and diarrhoea.
Norman Mitchell, who attended the ceremony, told the news source that his family had struggled with himself, his wife and their children all suffering.
He added that a compensation settlement had now been reached between the White Circle Organisation and the claimants.
