Hand injury to lead to damages pursuit 2316

An accident at work that resulted in a man losing three fingers could lead to him pursuing personal injury compensation for his ordeal.

The unnamed 21-year-old suffered these injuries when his hand came into contact with an industrial saw at premises owned by the Adelaide Engineering Company in the Greater Manchester area of Heywood in October last year.

It was later found that the man was using a blade measuring some 64 cms to cut a piece of metal just 5 cms wide as he had received no proper training from his employer on how to use the machine safely.

Meanwhile, an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive established the firm had not installed a guard around the dangerous parts of the saw, meaning its rotating blade was exposed.

This comes after a man had two fingers amputated in an accident at work at A.One Feed Supplements.
