Damages to be sought for hand injury?

A serious hand injury sustained during an accident at work could lead to a man seeking a compensation settlement.

The unnamed employee of A.One Feed Supplements was hurt in August last year while he was cleaning an air slide underneath a large animal food mixing machine at the company's premises in Thirsk.

While he was undertaking this task, his hand came into contact with the moving parts of the equipment and was subsequently crushed, leaving him with two amputated fingers.

An investigation into the incident conducted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) established that the firm had failed to take the necessary precautions to ensure their employees could not be injured by these dangerous components.

As a result of this accident, the man has not yet returned to work and will also suffer from permanent nerve damage.

This comes after Shaun Alexander lost four fingers on his right hand during an accident at work at the 2 Sisters Food Group in Flixton.
