Schoolboy awarded £14k in injury compensation

A schoolboy has been awarded a personal injury compensation settlement after a road traffic accident left him with permanent scarring.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liam Brickell, who is seven years old, was struck by an uninsured and disqualified driver some four years ago near his home on the Wirral - the region across the River Mersey from Liverpool - and subsequently sustained "major cuts and bruises all over his body, as well as a six-inch gash to the back of his head".

As a result of the incident, the child had chronic headaches for around six months afterwards, but, with the help of an expert from Russell Jones & Walker (RJW), has now been awarded a damages settlement of £14,000.

This sum may be used to fund cosmetic surgery for he boy.

Sally Gray of RJW told the news source: "I’m delighted that we are achieving compensation for Liam.”
