According to Wales Online, five passengers have been treated for whiplash following an incident involving a bus in the Welsh capital city last week (January 21st 2011), which may lead to damages settlements being awarded to the affected parties when the cause of the accident is ascertained.
The news source stated that witnesses to the incident have said that the bus was the only vehicle on the scene when the emergency services attended, but glass could be seen on the roadside in front of the stationary vehicle.
A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service commented that "five people were treated for whiplash and potential spine injuries", while all these people were taken to the University of Wales hospital, which is controlled by the Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust and is located in the city.
