Wales Online is reporting that Thomas Dodge, who was 75 years old, passed away earlier this week (January 24th 2011) when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle as he crossed the Aberaman bypass - which runs through an urban area around 20 miles away from Cardiff - in Wales.
Emergency services attended the scene and Mr Dodge was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, where he later passed away due to his injuries.
The news source stated that the region's police force are now investigating the incident - which involved a female driver who is 25 years old - to ascertain the cause of the accident.
When this is discovered, Mr Dodge's family - who commented that the news came as a "dreadful shock" - could seek a damages claim.
