Family Claim for Food Poisoning on Holiday in Turkey

Family pursuing food poisoning compensation claim

A family who contracted food poisoning while on holiday in Turkey are seeking personal injury compensation for their ordeal.

According to the Northern Echo, George Slater decided to take his loved ones on a sunshine break in order to cope with the death of a family member, but members of the party suffered from food poisoning - which includes symptoms such as sickness, diarrhoea and dehydration - soon after arriving at the Sarigerme village in Dalaman.

The family, from near Chester-le-Street, had eaten hamburgers after landing in Turkey and Mr Slater - who required hospital treatment for the duration of his stay in the eastern European country - believes this meal is what caused him and his relatives to fall ill.

"I was out of it and sick all the time. I thought I was dying," he told the news source.

As a result, he is seeking a damages settlement from First Choice Holidays and Flights.
